전북교원단체총연합회(전북교총)는 일본의 우리 역사 왜곡을 바로잡기 위해 12일부터 30일까지 '2010 독도 지키기 특별수업 기간'으로 정하고 이 기간 도내 초, 중, 고교생을 대상으로 특별수업을 한다고 밝혔다.
수업은 초등, 중학, 고등학생으로 나눠 실시하는데 주제는 초등의 경우 '독도가 우리나라 땅임을 분명하게 이해하기', 중학교는 '독도를 알아야 지킬 수 있다', 고등학교는 '동쪽 땅끝, 독도는 우리 땅' 등이다.
전북교총은 수업에서 일본의 우리 역사 왜곡 실태와 독도의 역사, 독도 지키기의 필요성 등을 가르칠 예정이다.
전북교총 관계자는 "최근 일본이 독도를 자기네 땅이라고 초, 중학교 교과서와 해설서에 명기하는 등 영토 침탈행위가 갈수록 노골화해 그 실상을 우리 학생들에게 정확하게 알리려고 이 수업을 하게 됐다"고 말했다.
